avatar; the last airbender
such an iconic animated show of the 2000s. it balances comedy and solemnity so well. its very deep for a "kids show", tackling tragic themes and pairing them with a goofy 12-year-old. plus, it has probably my favorite use of magic ever. and the worldbuilding is amazing, UGH i just love this show. especially book 3.

gravity falls
another amazing animated "kids" show. the humour in this is so good, 3/4 of my family members quote it constantly. there's still some moments in this show that have been stuck in my head for years. it also deals with some deep themes. one of my favorite shows of all time!

ghosts BBC
so funny, every character is loveable and perfect. even the ones youre supposed to hate are still great. its made by the cast of horrible histories, so if u like that show, youll love this! (thomas thorne is my favorite)

mob psycho 100
literally a perfect balance of comedy and seriousness. i dont even watch anime, but i binged this in 2 nights. if the plot doesnt get you, the characters definitely will. the humour is so dry and charismatic. this is one of the few shows that completely changed my outlook on life, probably since i connect with mob so much. if youve ever felt out of place with your peers, then this show will change your life. or if you just want a good 3 season anime.

over the garden wall
a must-watch every autumn season. it captures the cozy, yet eerie feeling of fall so perfectly. the voice acting is awesome and the animation is so charming. theres also lots of LORE and im not joking when i say every little thing in this show is planned. NOTHING is a mistake, theres a reason for the tiniest things and its so fun to search for them on rewatches. its only 2 hours so you literally have no reason not to watch it. plus, elijah wood.

hfj ONE
this ones an object show, so itd be best if you knew the premise of most object shows. but dont let that turn you away from it, this might be the one of the darkest shows ive watched. the voice acting is AMAZING. the music is AMAZING. the plot is AMAZING. and its all made by a few people. the characters all have different outlooks on the situation and it makes them feel so so real. this is also a short one, so give it a shot.
